Exercise and Fitness programs/classes for older adults Step and Sculpt Group Fitness Drop-In - an exercise class for all fitness levels. By using a combination of the step, weights and other fitness equipment, this class provides a total body workout. Experienced fitness level. This can incorporate standing , chair and floor work Balance and Flexibility Group Fitness Drop-In - participants warm up, stretch out muscles, and work on balance to improve fitness and overall well-being. Balance training helps strengthen the brain/body connection, which can help reduce the risk of falls. All fitness levels are welcome. Beginner fitness level Yoga Level 1 Group Fitness Drop-In - introductory Yoga that will begin the journey into the Yoga experience. Relax the mind and learn to handle everyday stress in a peaceful environment. Required Equipment: own non-slip Yoga mat Yoga Level 2 Group Fitness Drop-In - a gentle approach to the ancient art of Yoga, designed to work with the body participants have today, using a chair or on the floor. The combination of specific postures, deep breathing and relaxation techniques will help to relieve stress, increase muscle tone and flexibility, thereby creating balance of body, mind and spirit. This program will incorporate floor work Dancefit Fusion Group Fitness Drop-In - combines dance moves with a few easy choreographed routines. The class concludes with strengthening and conditioning using upper body weights and a cool down Men's Fitness Group Fitness Drop-In - fitness class geared towards men who want to exercise in a group environment. The class guides participants through a fitness routine that includes muscle conditioning and strength training while promoting an active and healthy lifestyle NOTE: Required Equipment: Clean indoor athletic shoes Programs occurring at Bob Callahan Flower City Senior Centre will require a Flower City Senior Membership in order to register for a spot in drop-ins or registered programs |
