Organization: E Fry Hope and Help for Women
Description of Services: This program offers first time offenders an alternative to a criminal conviction. Developed for first-time offenders who have been charged with a Federal Offence of Possession of Narcotics. Clients are required to complete community service work as an alternative to involvement in the formal court process. If the specified hours of community service are successfully completed, the original charge is withdrawn

Benefits of the program:

  • opportunity for adults and youth charged with a first offence to be diverted from the traditional justice system
  • offers first-time offenders an alternative to a criminal conviction
  • allows first-time offenders to take responsibility for their actions without incurring a criminal conviction
  • provides a service to the community through the required community service work to the public

Fees: Each client is required to pay a $130 administration fee to E FRY Hope and Help for Women
Eligibility - Population(s) Served: First-time youth and adult offenders charged with possession of a controlled substance. Individuals must take responsibility for his/her actions
Application: Individuals must be approved for the Program by the Federal Crown Attorney
