Exercise and Falls Prevention Program

Description of Services: The Exercise and Falls Prevention Program is a targeted intervention designed for seniors who are at risk of falls. Eligible participants may be able to access a 12 week in-person option. Twice per week, participants will attend group exercise sessions that are geared towards improving strength, balance and gait. Education related to home safety, promoting mobility, injury avoidance and other topics are integrated into the group sessions. Participants are encouraged to set personalized goals and will receive guidance to help transition into other appropriate community resources/programs. In consultation with a physiotherapist, this program is led by a qualified instructor or physiotherapy assistant

Classes are designed by health care professionals (CBI Home Health) and coordinated by Ontario Health atHome-Brampton (Central West)
