Various programs provide access to essential groceries and fresh produce for seniors, homeless individuals, students and families in need Emergency Food Assistance: for families or individuals facing hunger, who are in a difficult situation with no easy means of getting food on the table * provided on a one-time basis * short verification conducted and once qualified, food is delivered to the doorstep free of cost * service is provided 24 hours a day, 7 days a week Food for Seniors and Physically Disabled: provides shelf stable groceries on a monthly basis that are delivered to the doorstep at no cost * based on supplies, fruits/vegetables and dairy may be added to the hamper * for individuals living in GTA and Hamilton (GTHA) Sai Taaza: delivers fresh fruits and vegetables at an economical price, with free home delivery every 2 weeks for seniors and disabled living in Peel Region Children's Healthy Breakfast Program: works with the Peel District School Board to provide and support over 1000 children in 4 different schools with daily nutritious breakfasts and food hampers, the program is supported by the community through donations of food and volunteer time Feeding the Homeless: provides nutritious food to the homeless on a weekly basis * every week on Saturday and Sunday, Volunteers head to different cities and locations to serve the homeless a warm meal, and provide them with food that they can use to nourish themselves for a few days * service available in GTA and Hamilton Seniors Wellness: promotes healthy, active aging through advocacy and engagement * programs are designed to foster health, wellness, learning and social engagement and incorporate a social component before and after each session, allowing seniors and older adults create a rich social network (delivered right to participants home over zoom) - Sessions held every Saturday 10am-11:15am - Meeting ID: 954 7365 0383 | Passcode: Saidham - Meeting Link: http://www.zoom.us International Students Food Support: support and address the issue of food insecurity resulting from financial vulnerability.
