Program: Sahara Better Families Program - Youth Drop-in Program

Organization: Punjabi Community Health Services (PCHS)
Description of Services: Program provides support to families and help address issues related to healthy interactions between families and communities through support, group programs, mentoring programs, and referral to appropriate external agencies

The support group is for:
  • youth struggling with violence, substance use, self-harm or suicidal thoughts
  • parents and youth who want to strengthen their relationships and want to learn better communication and life skills
Assists with improving self-awareness, decision making and problem solving

Raises awareness and provides education on a variety of topics:

Bullying, education options, anger management, communications and healthy relationships, impacts of overusing technology, beating procrastination, self-esteem, conflict resolution, financial literacy in youth, professions in Canada

Eligibility - Population(s) Served: Services are offered to youth age 12-24 and their parents
Application: Call * Referrals are accepted through all sources - self, family, friends or any other agency or service provider
